My iPhone 16 Pre-Order Experience

Hey all! It’s Friday the 13th, but it’s also iPhone 16 pre-order day! I hope everyone had a smooth experience this morning.

I got up around 7:30 in the morning, had a chance to take a look at the Apple Store’s “We’ll be open soon” graphic, and got ready for whatever was about to transpire. I had pre-saved my device of choice a few days ago, so all my mother and I needed to do on our respective accounts was checkout for our devices.

When the store opened, there was a graphic that said to hang out here and we’ll let you in soon. I didn’t believe the graphic, so we got to experience both sides of the coin: my mother waited on the screen and got in, while I kept reopening my app over and over again; she got in first.

That being said, we were both able to secure the devices we wanted today, carrier financed, and arriving next Friday. So what devices did we go with? I decided to drop down from the Pro line to the standard 16 and went with a 512GB teal iPhone 16 Plus. My mother fell in love with the pink 16 the moment she saw it, so she got that with 128GB of storage.

Overall, the process for pre-ordering the iPhone was very simple, and I quite enjoy that Apple allows you to pre-save the device you want ahead of time for a quick and easy checkout. I really did want to see Always-On Display make its way to the standard phones this year, but aside from that, I’m confident the 16 Plus will suit my needs just fine. I’ve resisted a large phone for a long time, but the reality is I do need a large screen and a large battery more than I need an Always-On Display or a third camera.

Did you pre-order an iPhone 16 today? Which one did you get? Sound off in the comments below or let me know over on Threads!
