Earlier today, Apple revealed that this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference will be held entirely online, beginning June 7th.
As per the usual, the company didn’t reveal what they will be unveiling during their keynote presentation (the quality of these have been amazing) but online speculation is already rampant.

One of the big speculations is that Apple will be unveiling either their AR goggles or the long-rumored Apple glasses. I don’t know that I believe they’ll show either of these off at WWDC, but you never know with Apple.
The big excitement for me around WWDC every year is the reveal of the next iteration of iOS. Last year they showed iOS 14 which brought the App Library and Home Screen widgets to iOS. I can’t wait to see what the company does this year.
Last year, Apple was forced to move from an in person event to an online one, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because things still aren’t back to normal, it makes sense that Apple would continue to try their best not to pack thousands of developers from all over the world into a packed space.
The changes last year still didn’t stop Apple from bringing their A game, with the end of the event being the grand reveal of the M1 chip for the Mac line.
Now that we have a date, I look forward to planning all of my wishlist posts for iOS, iPad OS, and macOS and will be getting them posted in the lead up to the event.
In the meantime, what are you most hoping to see Apple unveil at the second online-only WWDC? Sound off down in the comments below.
