As alright as the USB C to USB C cable that comes with all new MacBooks is, I’d really like to see Apple step their game up. Even if it isn’t the default that comes in the box, I’d love to see Apple partner with someone to get a braided power cable for the MacBook lineup in the Apple store.
I know that it wouldn’t be cheap, but I’ve never been a huge fan of the material that Apple makes their cables out of. To their credit, while I’ve gone through a number of lightning cables over the years, I can’t remember ever having a MacBook power cable break on me — MagSafe or otherwise. Still, for something that I carry in my backpack, it would be nice for their to be a more robust option, especially to complement the wonderful M1 MacBook lineup.
